Made By Alpaca People For Alpaca People

I have never had a blog page before - might as well give it a try, and on Christmas Eve, no less. Well, it has been a pretty unusual last 6 or 7 days - we started Christmas break 3 days early because of snow, and it looks like we will have a White Christmas.

The girls have spent the last week under the shelter, letting me "plow" the way through all the snow to get to them. They enjoy their buckets of warm water, but my arms are sore. The boys don't seem to care as much about keeping their feet dry - but they also have been hanging out under their shelter.

As for the humans in the family - we have cabin fever big time! I am a big procrastinator, and didn't get my Christmas shopping done until yesterday. I was glad the roads cleared up a bit, or it would have been a sad, hungry Christmas around the Christensen household. The only bright spot in the whole situation was that we didn't lose power.

Merry Christmas to all my alpaca friends!

Merry Christmas Heidi. We too have been pounded with snow. I have some drifts that are a good 2/12 ft deep. To top that all off it is ice underneath. Warmed a bit today so it slushed up and some melted a bit. Of course tonight it has dropped back down to very very cold and it is all ice again. Gotta love Michigan.
I should be used to this but it nevers happens. At least we are not alone this year. Take care and keep warm...

Hi Heidi,

We are usually done with our Christmas shopping well before now too.... until this year... I have been out of work, so I was waiting for the really good prices before shopping. And I got most of it done before our big snow falls this past week. I still had to get food and stocking stuffers though, so Hubby and I trekked out last night in the horrible weather picking up last minute stuff with all the other procrastinators!
I am home today clearing snow with the boys ( they hate to shovel snow! ) and then we are baking cookies as their reward!
It is fun watching this years cria run and play in the snow paths that we have created! Kinda makes the work worthwhile!

Have a very happy holiday!
