Tell us more about yourself!
Quietly nestled in the green forest of Cape Cod , ever close to the beaches with the salty sweet air forever gently scimming over soft fine colorful fleeces , our aim is always to breed the finest and the best Huacaya herd in the country.
My goal is to bring back the pure Alpaca that dates back before the Incan civilazation , when alpacas walked with royalty...
Colors! well.. i started out wanting to build on a grey herd but as genetics sometimes make their own mind up , i have grown to love pintos.
That's not to say that fawns , black , white and of course grey isn't on the top of my list too
I put alot of empahsis on Legacy and Hemingway genetics in my line with Accoyo Caligula, Royal Fawn and Pachacuti to further my goal.
My grey line hails from Fire-n-Ice , Sylvio and Macusani. All produce amazing fleece fineness with high Suri-like shine.
It takes years of dedication to achieve a goal. Multi achievers like Snowmass Alpacas have been doing this for what 25 years or more to get to where they are now. Every year, every generation improves itself so much it inspires me to endeavor and be awed everytime a new cria enters the world. I can only imagine the future of the American herd. What a dedication and commitment for the love of Alpacas has done for the future fleece industry in this counrty and all over the world in relatively a short time ! Its truly wonderful to part of it all.
