Yeahm the animals seem to be the very best indicators of whether one is mortally in trouble or not. And, perhaps it is a scent that stirs, which may have fired up the coyotes around here from miles away. Dunno for sure.

Hi Chuck, I too am sorry for your loss. I know with my girl who prolapsed, it wasn't really obvious what was going on. My dam survived, but I found the cria dead the next morning. My girl just walked right off when I let her out of the pen - never…

Again we appreciate the responses. The problems were in the timing, with us having to leave the farm to take Lorraine's severely brain damaged son, Joey, to a doctor about a hundred miles away...and no help in either that or on the farm. Otherwise,…

So sorry to hear of your dillema. How sad for you. We have lost cria, but not a mom. It's heartbreaking. The one fortunate thing is that you have to get back to the other alpacas. In a strange way...it has a healing effect. Will keep you in our pray…

Well thanks for the responses and help...we did not realize that we were dealing with a prolapsed uterus at first due to the Mother being our major "drama queen" in all things and here she elected to cush at the fartherest field shelter. The cria tr…

Wow, it will be soooo good if you can get something happening for
yourselves - you have sure WORKED FOR IT, AND DESERVE IT.
I wish we had time to do things. So hard with JP being so explosive
here. I keep trying to get the BADBOYS THING OUTTHERE! Thank God
we finally got a little rain. Yesterdays winds (and I did not shut windows)
left us with hours of cleaning of pure dust and dirt inside! So much for
saving the electricity! I hope Lorraine is keeping her spirits up!
Hard for us all to do with this economy! Just when you get a $1,000 in
it is hay time!!!!! And we have little grass left with no rain! ha

At least we have each other!!! ONE PLUS EVEN THOUGH A DISTANCE APART.
We had a suri girl born (lt. fawn) I think "annie get your gun of GW"!
did you get our email blast thing!??? If you need breedings you know we
are good to go for you! SHSHSHSHSH!

Thanks for your comments, Chuck! Glad to have you on AlpacaSocial. I'm not sure what opinions you are requesting, so if you could elaborate a little on this. I don't have time to get on AlpacaSocial very often, but it's a great site to do some networking and learn from each other! Thanks very much for the invite and will talk again. Take care!

We are again in the ireport section with a few shots of two alpacas with football jerseys surrounded by happy Baltimore and Miami fans, in Miami, at the Dolphns Stadium. Several hundred photos were taken by fans and some may show up on CNN.Com soon, hopefully. The alpacas were a big hit as we went from tailgate party to tailgate party. Hundreds of people wanted to touch the alpacasa and others wanted to pose with them, hugging each. Makes us realize that alpacas are indeed "the huggable investment." The current article is: "Ravens 27, Dolphins 9, Alpacas 788" When you check on the author's profile, the New Year's Eve articles appear and you can commment on them and rate them too...for awhile.

Sure....we juust got back from tailgate parties at the Ravens v. Dolphins game in Miami, where two alpacas had uniforms on and visited hundreds or more fans from both teams. the fans wanted to get their photos taken with the alpacas and we advised them to send some comments and photos into CNN.com ireports. What happened is that we were carried on tv by Anderson Cooper last year for New Year's Eve. this year CNN contacted us about whatever we were going to be doing, which was attempting to start an annual new year's eve alpaca walk in three cities dueing the afternoon. CNN producers said they wanted some shots and would give tv coverage, so I did that. How their ireports work, evidently, is that some stories are posted and carried for 24 hours as new hot stories with good photos...particularly if the story gets five star ratings and has thousands of hits from viewers... After a day, these stories go into the "week old" file for viewing, but may also survive if they get special hits, like five star ratings, or numerous comments...and there are categories for these things to look under.
My goal is to try to get news out about how great alpacas are, to the thousands of people who tried to see the photos each day, and are looking for new alpaca photos and videos.
Plus, whenever we get thousands of hits per day, and many people make great comments, I can use that page or pages as a marketing tool for doing many more things with the alpacas....where sponsors feel safer about financing us for shows and alpaca concerts. So can other alpaca owners. But how long the story stays active is a matter of how many people view it and rate it.
thing is, the producers and Team Ireport writers asked me to do some things that should keep the alpacas floating in the news for days or weeks.

So that is a "green light" to me and should be for many in the industry who want their names mentioned, farms mentioned, and can tune people into the alpacas. The first 24 hours is best to respond to since it can keep the photos and article placing high in many categories, and that gets it on tv which brings in alpaca-awareness to millions---which helps us all. But it takes locating the article---which I send the http code for to alpaca people web sights so they can click on it and get right to the photos and articles...if they see it on the wen sight. If it is there for more than a day, the same article but often with more comments, is put into "last week" columns and needs to be located again...or by following the first web address to begin with (which can connect to a two or three or more day old article and photos.)
They give an option for emailing the article and photos to others once you log in, and you can rate the story as well as add comments....which is what I was hoping folks would do.

Chuck - I think people do not understand exactly what it is you want them to do. I didn't see anything about alpacas on CNN.com, nor did I see anything that would explain where or why anyone would need or want to create screen names or give opinions about anything. Can you give us more information about what you are trying to do?
