We began this adventure a little over 5 years ago and since then I have found my new calling, alpacas! I raise hucaya and suri and am very invloved in the show sytem, serving presently as an AOBA apprentice judge. In addition I am involved in fiber arts with needle felting, weaving, and crochet being th medium I use to create one of a kind alpaca items. In addition I design advertising peices for customers, from digital photograyphy, to logos , fliers and email blasts.
Merry Christmas! We are thrilled with Elizabeth & Brandan! Finally yesterday the sun came out and Brandan could get out and run with his new playmates! How has Cotton adapted to the colder weather?
I will definitely call you when my schedule goes back to normal and we can plan a weekend away. I really would love someone to show me hands on how to access the animals.
That is amazing. Surely by the time you achieve full Judgeship you have gained the ultimate in expertise, especially after taking on all four aspects. We really learn a multitude of information by listening to comments made by judges at the shows.
I did not realize the drastic expense incurred, nor the scrutiny on an ongoing basis. One has to have intense memory retention like you say to complete the apprenticeship and go on to Judgeship. It certainly is an honor and you are very fortunate to have the support of a spouse along the way. That makes the battle lighter for you both.
Good luck! How long is the apprenticeship before you sit for the Judgeship?
Thanks for the information, it was a pleasure reading it.
My Best,
Marlene
