Simon Maybe the payment issue isn't with you but between the person who sold you the alpacas and the person they purchased them from? I recently heard of a lady who had paid her female off, the female had given her a cria and when she tried to regis…

Hi John A shorn class is one where the alpaca is shown strictly for its conformation. The fiber isn't long enough to qualify it for the full fleece class and the fiber quality isn't taken into consideration. The composite class is one where the alp…

Dena The AOBA "creation of a marketing plan for alpaca end-product based on the “Certified Angus Beef” promotion" was not an endorsement of an alpaca meat industry. It is simply referring to a branding of our end product - fleece. Unfortunately ins…

Nottingham Hollow

Just a little about us and our farm, Alpacas of Nottingham Hollow... It is located in Caroline County Virginia which is just south of Fredericksburg. One can keep up with the goings on at our place by reading our blog!

Our alpaca journey began in 2003 when we first started researching alpacas, purchasing them and turning our 5 acres of wooded property into a farm. That is of course… Continue

Oh my gosh, Sue--you are absolutely right!! I even told my husband the other day that I was going to your show!!! I can't believe I made such a faux paux!! We are having our annual pen sale. I didn't make it to FABA Fleece show this past weekend because of my folks 60th wedding anniversary--so I really must be there to support our Fall Festival of Alpacas. It really is a great event. We have lots of things going on at this event for the general public and had a really good turnout for it last year. FABA is working hard to "get the word" out there about alpaca. I really am dissapointed appointed. I would have loved to meet Connie and "hang out with you and your gang..plus..be a volunteer!! I know how evey show needs those!!

Hi Sue,
Yeah, the vacation plans kept changing every day! Then, it took way longer than we thought to go through Mt. Vernon....I forgot how into all the history my oldest son is! He was reading every word written there!!! He's my history buff! Then, I was thinking that I might be able to get back up there to see you, and it just didn't happen... :(
I really wanted to meat you in person and see your critters!
Am also sending you a private e-mail....

Thanks, we're looking forward to the show. We have been procrastanators in the past and were wanting to register early, especially since its at the Horse center. We were late registering there before and was as far from the ring as you could get. Thanks again.

Hi Sue, Not so much into "group things" but do enjoy reading the posts - as long as it doesn't turn into a personal or political attack. I started raising these fuzzballs to get away from the politics of the corporate world, guess it is just part of life. Always glad to be a part of something positive. :)

Hi Sue,
Everything is wonderful here in Florida. The boys are doing wonderful. I know have the 8 boys "in my backyard" and have 1 little female cria born right after our EXPO named, "Shi'Lo" and 5 more girls--all agisting on other farms. One of boys is actually on another farm "trying to make babies" for the first time!!" He isn't quite sure what to do--but he keeps on trying!! I do miss him and can't wait to get him back home.
Hope everything is well with you.

I feel the same way. We are looking forward to the show in October. Were very excited about the new location. It cuts our drive in half!
