If you are only seeing air bubbles then you may not be focusing at the "right" level. You should be able to find some vegetative matter to focus one then scan the slide at that same level. Air bubbles are very frustrating since they can make it diff…

You can disinfect with 10% bleach without mixing with soap. Straight from the bottle bleach(undiluted) is not recommended since it is too viscous(thick, sticky) to actually disinfect. We also use 10% bleach to disinfect our booth at any show. It is…

Most clinical laboratories use phenolic compounds for serious cleaning. Bleach alone is sufficient but do not use it undiluted. A 10% solution is recommended. Do not mix with the soap. Wash counters and equipment with soap to remove the visible part…

We use an assortment of fans for the 'pacas. We have the cheap box fans and the large 42' fans. Since we are in Florida it is critical to keep the fans going. We also found it was critical to have plenty of fans or else the more timid alpacas never…

Lori, one of the first girls we bought had a serious attitude. She would cover anyone with slime that she had saved for days. We bought her because she has beautiful babies. After a full year and trying several tricks we finally found the solution. She is food aggressive. We now feed her separately and she doesn't spit at everyone. She has given us 3 beautiful crias since we bought her and she is the QUEEN. It just takes time for them to become comfortable with you. Have you taken a Camelidynamics class with Marty yet? It is wonderful!

I am enjoying getting to know my gang. :-) I have a lot to learn, but we are getting used to one another --- and so are my "fierce" guard puppies. Maggie & Jackson are 3-mo-old Great Pyr/Anatolian Shep mix pups who are absolutely adorable. Not sure who loves them more: my alpacas, my German Shepherd or me! It's so fun to watch everyone interact. I just wish the alpacas weren't so hesitant with me, but for now, as long as they're alive and healthy, I'm happy. LoL Babies due next month. eek!
