Hello, my name is Steven Ayers. My family has been raising llamas in upper east TN for almost ten years. About a year ago, we purchased a few alpacas to add to the farm.
Our farm name is Walnut Ridge Llamas.
I am currently stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Anchorage AK. Unfortunately, I do not have room in backyard for any llamas or alpacas at this time. I doubt the Air Force will allow me to have any on base :-). Ironically, Alaska is the perfect place to have either one of these animals. I went hiking the other day and it was amazing! You can see all my photo albums here.
Hi Steven,
I just love your photos, they are gorgeous!
Hope all is well, keep in touch.

I just left Alaska after 15 years in Anchorage. I lived at Huffman and LK Otis PKY in south Anchorage. I loved your album, Flat Top looks exactly the same as every time I climbed it. The pictures are a great representation of how beautiful Alaska is,( in the light months!!)
Welcome to Alpaca Social!
Hi Steven,
Welcome to AlpacaSocial! I haven't been on here very long and am still learning how to use it.
Our son-in-law is in Afghanistan but should be returning this Spring.
I know some curly horse people in AK...we raise Curly Missouri Foxtrotters, too. You can see them at www.curlymft.com
Our alpacas are at www.alpacanation.com/thepacaplace.asp
This week, we just added 5 females, a black herdsire, and a gelding to our herd. I had to go to Michigan to pick them up.
Hope you enjoy this site!

Hi Steve - I'm fairly new to this AlpacaSocial site, probably more so than you, but just wanted to say great job on the photos. Now...can you share, for us non-techies, how you imbedded the above photo viewer and what software was required? I'd love to do something like that with my products!
Hi Steve,
Your pictures are beautiful! I have been to Alaska 4 times, once living there for 6 months. I stayed with my brother and sister-in-law at Elmendorf. I worked at a vet clinic in Anchorage. (Dr. Satchen,, I dont even know if he is still there). Keep sending the pictures,, they remind me of a fun time! Will have to get my husband and children up there soon!
One of my girlfriends sisters is stationed out there in the coast guard. I love the pictures they post on their page. Hoping you are well!! Do you have anything on your wish list for chirstmas? We love shopping for our military family, we would be happy to try and find you some of the things you and your unit are looking for this holiday season. just let me know ;)
one of my girlfriend's sisters is married to a coast guardsman stationed out there. I can't believe the things she gets to see out there. please post lots of pictures,,,,,i can't wait to see what it looks like where you are stationed!
