We live in the greatland where we raise both alpacas as well as llamas. We sell the animals as well as wool and product made with llama and alpacas.
We also raise and sell anatolian shepards which are brought up on both alpacas and llamas as well as other live stock, chickens, turkeys, pigs, goats, and a horse.
We love the life style the ranch provides us.

Yes I did get a female Anatolian short hair with patches. That's her name Patches. WOW she is something else already bossing my 3 year old male (135lbs) and she is 5 months 50lbs. My male has a new trick jumping the 5" fence. I bought the invisible fence. I think I'm in trouble now!!!

Wow quite the farm you have! I wish I lived near by so I could stop in! Those piggies look big enough to ride for your little cow poke!

Hi Kathy,
Spin -offs aren't hard. If you check the AOBA show site, they will be noted under the fleece category of each show. Each one has rule lists, but most are the same. 2oz of prime fiber that is cleaned of as much dust and vm as you can with out washing/carding it. then you send it in and the judge cards it and spins it . Great way to know what you have fleecewise! It's cheaper than going to a show too!

When I dye with koolaid, I make sure that i dont move the fiber inside the dish. I place clean fiber in a pyrex dish and pour on the koolaid/water mix over the top. ( use wet fiber... it soaks up the color better) Then I microwave it for 2 minutes. then let it sit for 2 more. If the water isn't clear yet then I stick it back in for another 2 min. Then when its cool i pick it up trying to keep the locks together and squeeze it out and then let it air dry.
So far I've been lucky and have not felted any :)

Hi Kathy, great to hear from you. Yes our Rosie is a real sweetheart. I think it is because of the kid's. They spend so much time with her. Especially my Son as you can see with the pictures. She will let him lay on her and hug her and she will lay her head down on him. We have no specific training method. We give them a lot of love and affection, (some say not to do that, but it works for us!) Our little DIpper, who is a bottle baby is going to be just as friendly as his sister if not more. HE is so happy to see us coming, he is at the gate waiting as soon as we walk out of the house. He loves to play with the kids as well. He will follow my Son anywhere.

HI KAthy, just checking in and seeing how things are going for you. I noticed that you have written to Jeannie, Do you know her or have you only met her on this site. It is funny I met her while on a web site that my kids use called Neopets, we got talking Alpacas and have been emailing for over a year now.
