I love suri alpacas, although I currently have a few huacayas that I'm using to first cross. I live on my parent's farm (they breed huacayas) and I'm looking to buy a farm of my own :)

Breeders here in the States want their Suris to be "pure." Currently I have 19 suris - some are more pure than others. :o) I have never cross bred and probably never will. We just had are first huacaya cria born this year from our only huacaya female. She is a beauty, but I still prefer my suris. There is nothing more beautiful then to see a fully coated suri with all that fiber swishing around as they move.

Hi Jess, Can I ask you a question? Crossing suris with huacayas is frowned upon big time here in the states. Is it a more normal occurance there in Australia? What are you trying to accomplish with it?
