I can appreciate your point Rick. I am glad we have more than one vacancy to fill. This election, with the candidate selection members have available to them, should create a fantastic BOD with fresh new ideas and objectives as well as a well-roun...

Sharlene, No blasting here from me. I am in total agreement with you. We too know the Jones family of River Ridge Alpacas both personally and professionally and think that Doug Jones would be a FANTASTIC addition to the AOBA board. He has fresh i...
Hi Janet, We made all of our training/Obstacle course ourselves out of PVC pipe and some wood. As soon as the wind stops blowing 40mph I will get some pictures to you. We also just added some old tires and a small bridge.

Birth Announcement!

We had a beautiful baby boy born yesterday morning at 9:30 am. We were away in NM to pick up and deliver some alpacas when our ranch manager called us. He is a Bayou Creek Coppertone baby from our Cream Dee'La Cream. He is a gorgeous light fawn with tight little curls all over. He has full face coverage. Healthy, and doing great. I will post photos as soon as I can.

What An Experience We Had!

All I can say is "WOW" what an experience! Our big day was finally here and we were all so full of joy and anticipation as we waited for the transport to pull in. Since we live in West Texas it is very flat and you can see for miles. We spotted the transport rig coming down the street and everyone was whooping and hollering and so excited to finally have all of our babies home with us. We had five boys already here and this transport was bringing the rest, 6 alpaca girls (4 pregnant), 5 alpaca m… Continue

Hi Cindy....bags are NOT packed yet, but will be next week!!!! :) Trying to get ready for the movers that come in a week......and get everything ready for our dog to fly back too! Been crazy couple weeks...also, lots of friends wanting to go out and have lunch/shopping/dinner...get-togethers before I leave. Will be sad to say goodbye to friends, but happy to be going home!!!!
How is everything in your part of the world? Hey....tell me some more info on the pregtone? Have you been happy with it? Where did you get it, and if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it? Also....not sure if you got my earlier message or not, but could you give me more info on the trailer you bought? We're trying to weigh our options and figure out what would be best for the money. I'm thinking 3 horse slant with tack.....but really want to keep it under 7,000....... not sure if that's possible.
Two more weeks....I'll be on a plane to NC to visit the oldest son and granddaughters (oldest is 3, youngest is 7 months)...can't wait!! Will be arriving in TX on the 23rd. Counting the days!!!!! Anymore shows this spring for you????

Hi Cindy....well, sounds like you all did quite well at TxOLAN!!!! Congratulations!!! I heard it was tuff competition.........My three brought home a second place and a fourth place. My black girl didn't place :( but I can't complain!!!! Question.....you had mentioned that you have a stock trailer and a three horse slant with tack room. Are you using the three horse slant for shows, and if so.......are you happy with it? How many alpacas can you put in it comfortably? How many divided areas inside...? Is it bumper pull? What type of truck are you using to pull it? We're weighing our options on F150/F250/F350.......and types of trailers. If your happy with your trailer, can you send me a picture, I'm curious to see what type............. THANKS!!!! Jeannie

I'm sorry to hear about what you went thru with the weather there....wow, must have been very, very scarey. I know how those TX winds can be, they used to shoot down our pasture at a previous house in Crowley. One year we had big winds come thru, pick up our sons LARGE trampoline, take it UP AN OVER the pool pump, throw it into our sons free-standing basketball hoop(large one, the base filled with water), knock the hoop over and put it thru the front window of our truck!!!! Was like a domino effect!!!!!
I'm glad to hear that your and your family and the animals are all ok....a story to tell later down the road, something to be thankful now that all is well!!!!! Have fun at TxOLAN......good luck!!!! Let me know how it goes!

Hi Cindy.......I am SICK that I'm not going to be there for the Oklahoma show and the TxOLAN show......would love to be there!!! I have the same three going that were at the Kansas show.....Tiva (my black girl with Nova's Gold & Schwarzkopf), Takoda (my Nova's Gold son) and Levi (my Avatar boy).....I'm excited to see how they all do!!!!!! Good luck with all of yours....sounds like you are going to have quite a bit to show!!! Pretty exciting!!!! Thank you for the invite for the shearing....but I'm already set up to shear with the Reiling Ranch. We're good friends with Denise & Ron Reiling (actually used to live next door to them...prior to us moving here), and the majority of our alpacas are being agisted there. Let me know how the Oklahoma show goes.....................GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! Jeannie
