We established our farm in January of 2003. We strive to raise alpacas that are healthy and conformationally strong. We always lean towards fleece that is very dense, full of crimp and very consistent. Although we do not breed for color, we are drawn towards the browns and fawns. We are very proud of what we've accomplished so far, and where we are going. We have a very strong, healthy, gorgeous herd! :-)
I just received photos of them today. They are so small but so very cute. If anyone can bring them through, it would be Barb and Jay. They are so good. I want to stop by and see them too when they are stronger. I love your photo of the alpacas running. The cria in the lead. Ha!
Did you hear? Barb and Jay had twins on their ranch. A girl and a boy. The boy is smaller and is smaller. They are helping him and he seems to be doing okay. I can't wait to see them.
Thanks Kathy! I'll try it out this winter to see how warm it is. I think my next project will be a blanket for our bed. That will be nice for a cold winter. Well, I best head for bed soon. Talk to you later. Dena
That is my male Peso. He is out of my female JLFA Sofie and his dad is Tribute To Money (Irish Valley Farm) His grand dad is CPeruvian Silvino. We have done very well in the show ring with blue ribbons and 1 reserve color champion. He is a stocky little guy with fleece to die for. He had so much fleece around his face that we took the side of so he could see, but he still looks great. He is being used this fall with one of my female and to other farm this fall if he is ready. Peso will be 2 years old in Oct. I am listed on alpacanation, my farm name is WindSpun Alpacas. Thanks Leslee Michell
I'll put a photo of my hat on my pictures. It's really not my style so I'm not sure how I feel about it. It would probably look better with a white coat in the winter. Ha!
My computer is to slow here at home, I'm still on dial-up. I work at Fedex Kinkos so I got on a computer there and was able to change the theme of my site. I can't add friends here either so I have to go there to do it, among some other things.
Tell me what you think of the hat? Talk to you later, Dena
Wow, those herdsires of yours sound like they will be busy. I don't have as many females so each one gets one breeding and our main herdsire gets two, actually three. I'll keep an eye out for your crias. I love the crias, who doesn't?
I tried crocheting a hat out of raw fiber. It's my first and I'm still trying to decide if it looks silly or not. I just wanted to try it to see if I could do it. Take Care, Dena
Kathy-Just a hobby here, too. I love taking pics of animals and landscapes. Most of my pics are of my 4 black dogs. It sure does teach you patience photographing animals, doesn't it? Nice job on all of your photos! Enjoyed your album!
