My name is Leslee Michell and my husband Cal have been raising Alpacas for 3 years now. We started out with 3 bred females and they have given us 6 healthy beautiful boys, yes all boys. But we have done well in the show ring and it has been alot of fun meeting new people. Our frist cria is due around Sept 11, praying for a girl. We also have a product for the Alpacas, Alpaca Foamat Flooring, which has been a new aventure also. Hope to meet more poeple and have lot of fun too. Cal & Leslee Michell
Just wondering if any one is going to sell thier fiber to them so they can make jeans. I am not sure what to do. If you become a member you have to pay 250.00 but that is good for 5 years but they might not be able to buy next year. Does anyone have a good suggestion on what to do with the fiber.
Hi Cal and Leslee
Well you can send fiber to me for processing into yarn, Rovings, or felted sheets. I can then send to a friend in MI who has a non profit org. (Handicap kids) who make items. Because there a non profit you can donate fiber to them and get the tax write off. Give me a call if you want more info.

Paranormal State is the best ghosthunting show on. That is exactly what I do. It is a lot of fun and I really enjoy it. I used to have a website but recently broke up that group and now am with another local group that is more organized. We just investigated the Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro, we were the first group to be let in to investigate. I still haven't listened to all my recordings and downloaded pix from there yet, so its still a mystery. It was a fun night and we had psychic Tuesday Miles with us doing a seminar and then the investigation. Its very interesting, there are ghosthunting groups all over the country, bet you there is one near you!

Hi Leslee ,
Thank you so much for the offer, but right now I am at a number of boys that is almost too many, 15 of my girls are confirmed pregnant . 5 for spring and 10 for fall. Most of them are bred to Studmaster males. I am excited but a little overwhelmed!! I have only been in alpacas for 2 years! Lovin' it so far.

Hi Cal & Leslee,
Seven boys! On My! I had one girl and three boys this year. I certainly hope the same thing doesn't happen next year.
We have bought the steamed rolled oats at our local TSC here in Fenton, but I don't think they are carrying them this year. You'll have to check with the closest to you. We have also purchased them at a local feed store. They come in 40 or 50 pound bags. Just remember this is not a food to feed alpacas for its nutritional values, but rather for the extra fuel an alpaca needs to help keep them warm on a cold winter night. Oats will put weight on an alpaca so watch for that. You don't give them much. About 1/4 cup per alpaca. Last year we discovered that one of our finicky cria that was not interested in grain whatsoever loved the oats. She would do her best to eat all the oats and leave the grain. But the oats are what finally got her to give grain a try.
I've been breeding and showing English Cockers for over seven years. The photos I posted are mostly professional shots I had taken. The one with the cocker on the pillow I took. He knew he wasn't supposed to be on the pillow! My cockers have taken a back seat at the moment while I concentrate on getting my alpaca business up and running. I am still showing my dogs, but have cut way back. :o(
Leslee,
It was good to see you at the show. Sorry that I didn't get very long to visit. It always seems there aren't enough hours in the day :)
Hoping that you start getting girls! It's your turn!!!
Yes it is a full service fiber mill, I do not purchase fiber. Farms send fiber to me for processing into yarn, batts, feltings. I will look at your flooring, but I think i know what it is. I'll let you know.
Sorry I missed you on the chat today! I must have left as you commented :)
Maybe i'l be on tomorrow :)
