Sherm or Cindy, I understand that the people who suffer from mental illness have rights too, I really know more than everyone thinks I might, (Without the degree). I do not know this farm or his business. That isn't the point. But from the little I…

My point is that mental illness is not an excuse, the mentally ill are always mentally ill. It's not alcoholism or a druggy your talking about that can turn their life around by taking responsibilities for their actions and making amends through som…

In my opinion about mental illness, never trust a person who suffers or claims to suffer from a mental illness/or personality disorder. If they can not take care of themselves, they have no business taking care of animals. There is never an excuse f…

My husband and I bought our first alpaca in Febuary of 2006 and we still don't regret it. We love having them in our lives. We both currently work and do our alpaca chores together every morning and come home to check on them every night. We feel blessed to have these wonderful creatures in our lives. We are also listed on Openherd.com under ALPACA CLAN ACRES, USA

My husband, Terry and I, Dena bought our first alpaca in Febuary 2006. We knew immediately that we wanted to raise alpacas, so we bought a few more in our first year. In our second year we bought three more. We are up to fifteen alpacas now. Our plans are to grow. We have ten acres in Wellington, Colorado. Just twenty minutes from Wyoming and only twenty minutes from CSU, located in Fort Collins, Colorado.
We love raising our animals here in Colorado. Colorado is one of the five top states for t… Continue

Hi Dena,
Thanks for the welcome! I am glad there is a site like this where alpaca lovers can unite! We hope to get some land in about 6 months and then hopefully soon after that we'll be getting our starter herd! We are researching local alpaca farms so we can form a partnership and have a mentor to help us. I can't wait!

Hey Dena,
Glad you had a good time at the show.... I had a blast at the spring show here in MI !!! My critters did great! Reserve Color Champ, 2 blues, 1 red, 1 white, and a green! Not bad for 2 days! I am so proud of my son..... he won one of the blues in the intermediate obstacle course! He loves these guys so much! He's my future paca farmer!

Yes, I saw her little critters too! Very cute. Her felting was/is also featured in the new alpaca magazine! I am using pipe cleaners as the base ... still experimenting :)

Yeah... i am getting cabin fever bad! But I am still felting and am trying to make some free standing alpacas out of some of this fleece... still in the experimenting stage.... they look more like dogs than alpacas ! When I get them perfected, I will take some pics!

I have found that the edges stick together and start to felt, but when you card the fibers they come apart some. I pull the fibers apart into a big fluffy pile before I card it. That works best for me. My carders are the 4 x 6 inch carders. I dont think i could use the larger ones....
good luck :)

You will be sooo supprised when you see it all done! Don't worry if it still looks a little 'yellow' while it's still wet. It will dry nice and bright white! good luck and have fun!
